Can you order the different color handles and switch them out when the mood changes?:)

No you can't. You can send it in to BM for service and have them change it but if you change them your self then you void the warranty.

Why not just buy a few and use the color you like on the day you want!!!

Now that is whata true BM fan would do.
 
Unfortunately, the 550 only comes in easy to lose colors (Black, OD, Gray, Camoflage) and not in any of the bright colors available on the 555. I've got my eye on a yellow 555 to go with my red (from the trainer) handled 550.
 
I did a Google Search for "Noryl GTX". Turns out they use it to make body panels for cars. You can heat it to 300 to 350* to cure paints. You could probably paint the handles any color you want. Unfortunately, they'd probably be slippery and subject to chipping.

I still want to try making some 550 handles out of wood, aluminum or G10.
