Benchmade Heckler & Koch Axis Folders

have got my hands on the folder and was not disappointed. It is interesting becasue the black on it was basicall rubber, so it had a good grip to it.

If you are looking for an axis folder, i would definitely take a look at these. They really remind me of some snoody designs. I see that you are in Ohio, and I know for a fact that River's Edge knife store in Columbus has a few in stock. Go and try to get your hands on one.

I believe I read that they are Snody designs. I've been afraid to buy knives from stores around town because I know I can get them online for so much less than retail. Do stores sell the knives at retail? Either way, I'm going to try to get over there to handle one before I buy it. I live in Columbus as well.

I have the tanto(not for long though..reprofiling it into a drop point with a recurve ala 710) version of these knives I aquired in a trade. Very well put together and solid, Aluminum handles with a "rubber" insert(not sure what the acual composite is) I belive it is a very nice variation of the axis lock knives.

I just received mine the other day, plain drop point, purchased at http://www.savsonswordsandknives.com/. They seemed to have the lowest price when you factor in free shipping, which came quickly.

This is my first BM, The knife feels very sturdy. Lock up is solid, fit and finish is great. I really like the blade design. And as expected, the edge was shaving sharp. The knife is heavier and larger than I expected, but this is because I have been carrying a Kershaw baby boa, so everything seems big incomparision.

The only gripe I have is that the rubber sections on the grip seemed slightly slippery with sweaty hands but obviously had more grip than bare metal.

All in all I love the knife, as did all the people in my Serrada Escrima class.

The HK34 was a perfect gift to myself for having to deal with the wife's family for an extended weekend :)
