I just recently bought a Benchmade 635 and the detent ball has come out of it. Will Benchmade replace this under there warranty or is it going to cost me for the repair. I already emailed them and am awaiting there responce, did'nt know if anybody had a similar situation. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

Well I got the knife 2nd hand, and did not know if they will still honor the warranty. I have no clue how it happened I received it that way.

They sure will, no problem. It might cost you shipping at most. Just email them, or call.

You would probably be better off giving them a phone call, as I have heard it sometimes takes a while to get an email response.

That' really weird, I've heard of detent balls getting worn but never falling out. Call BM and get it taken care of.

I have never seen one out either. I got the knife today, opened the package and was like what the heck, completely gone. I do not know if the previous owner maybe punched it out or something, but it is not there.

This is my third 635 so I could tell right away that something was wrong, I emailed the person I bought it from asking if he knew it was missing, got no response yet.

I've heard of them occasionally falling out of knives. I'd bet Benchmade will honor the warranty.

BTW, anyone know what exactly holds the ball in place?

I could be wrong but I think it is pressfit in there. Thats just a wild guess.

With a blade like the 635 has I can say it is a must have.
