Has anyone purchased this knife?

It looks like an alternative to the Kabar TDI for duty belt carry. Ive never handled the TDI but the concept of a fixed blade carried in plain sight with no sheath retention did not appeal to me.

The Plan D looks nice, but i suspect that the sheath, just like the TDI, has no retention.

Of course, it could be also carried as a concealed final option weapon by just about anyone.

So has anyone handled it? Any thoughts on it?

The in sheath retention is decent, but it's not something meant to be carried vertically if that's what you're asking. It's kydex though so you could easily take a heatgun and tighten it up if you want.

Bought the Plan D about a week ago and have been EDCing it ever since. Overall, I'm very happy with it. My only complaint is the edges of the steel in the finger choil: very sharp. I'm thinking of taking a fine tooth round file to them so they aren't so sharp. The blade was very sharp out of the box (something I expect from a Benchmade) and is holding it's edge well so far. Most cutting has been paper, cardboard and plastic so far so we'll see how the edge holds up. This is my first blade with the N680 so I'm not sure what to expect from it. The handle scales are very comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable I've ever had. I switched the belt clip the first day I got it so I could wear it on my right side: there is no chance of carrying a concealed sidearm where I live so the Plan D is more of a Plan B for me. I would definitely recommend the knife to anyone looking for a small affordable fixed blade.

The sheath retention wears after time. The knife can and does fall out especially if the handle catches on anything, seat belt, etc. I love the knife but lost it at work two weeks ago...it is gone...It's fallen out of the sheath a few times but always found it...not this time.
Blade HQ does have them still in stock I think. I'd love another one but have to think about using a different sheath.

I bought the TDI but don't like it...the blade is to thick, wide and short for my needs at work...paper mill. I used it for less than an hour and it just didn't cut it hehehe.
