Benchmade HK Axis Folder vs. Benchmade Axis Stryker?

I've been wanting a Benchmade Axis Stryker and just stumbled upon the HK Axis folders (also made by Benchmade).

The HK models appear to be almost identical except that they're a bit bigger/heavier, the blades are coated D2 steel instead of the 154cm that Benchmade used on the Stryker, and they're also a little less expensive?

I know that Benchmade has a great reputation with D2 so I'm thinking of getting the HK rather than trying to find a good used BM Stryker...do the Benchmade HK knives models have the same level of quality, fit/finish, etc?

great value! I bought one and have been very impressed with it! Not quite the same as a regular BM but very close.

The H&Ks are great knives, but Benchmade has discontinued the entire H&K line, so get one now if you want one.

I appreciate the feedback and did see that the HK models are now discontinued as well. There are several retailers that have them in stock so I'll probably order one today.

I handled an HK model at the shop last week and it didn't feel anything like a Benchmade.

Every Benchmade has a smooth action and a nice feel when using the axis on its omega springs. The HK had a rough, gritty opening that couldn't be done with my thumb only like I expect from other Benchmades (even the Adamas).

The HK is still a great deal just don't get it if you're expecting a Benchmade with a different logo on it. I only handled one HK so it could have been a lemon

I've read that some can be a little tight when new but smooth up after a short time. I'm assuming that Benchmade is using the same lock parts that they're already mass producing for all Axis lock models.
