Benchmade HK P30 Unassisted?

I recently acquired a HK P30 Knife, it has black plastic scales, black semi serrated blade in 8CR13 steel. Every P30 I've seen online is assisted, but this one is unassisted. I disassembled it and can't find any indication that it was assisted and had the spring bar removed. There's a solid rear spacer where the spring bar would be. My question is, did these knives ever come as straight unassisted? I can't find any info online, any help would be greatly appreciated.
