Anyone have any field experience with any of the Benchmade hidden canyon knives. Thinking of a new edc, and also something for deer season. Will be used for everyday cutting tasks, plus gutting and processing deer. I've really liked my F1 for deer, but obviously a little big for edc. Any suggestions thoughts or experiences would greatly appreciated. Thinking of buying one soon. By the way been looking at those with s30v steel.

Interesting. Just posted one for sale here if you want to save a little money.

I have two and love them. Probably my favorite EDC fixed blade due to its small form and good edge retention. I would love it even more if I could find an In-pocket sheath.
I've used it camping, fishing, for work, etc. Selling the one I got for my wife so I can get a Saddle Mountain. She hardly used it.

I have this discontinued BM 15015 Skinner in D2, the predecessor to the Hidden Canyon. It has a deep choil on a contoured handle with well done jumping, in all the right places and I can't see anyone losing control of the blade, even in the worst conditions. It fits my large hand better than any other knife of its size ( 6.3"), in a variety of grips. I highly recommend it for a small fixed blade option, if the blade length is sufficient for you. The new version should perform at least as well and maybe even a bit better, if edge retention and stainless attributes are your primary concern.

Recently purchased this Hidden Canyon Hunter (HCH) from a forum member. I applied some linseed oil to the scales that were a little dry and it soaked in well. Benchmade sent me a kydex sheath that I modified. This blade is very similar to my esee izula that I bring as a backup camping blade. Weight with scales and sheath is almost identical to the izula at ~4 oz. Blade shape is very close except the HCH has a bit more belly. I wanted something about the same size as the izula, with better steel, and perhaps work better for cooking chores. This knife fits the bill and is so darn pretty!
