Anyone tried out the Saddle Mountain Skinner? If so, what are your thoughts? I'm thinking about getting one and also wanted to know which handle material you decided on between the Dymondwood or G10.

I don't own one (sorry), but what are you planning on using it for? Just skinning, or are you planning on doing any sort of field dressing/cleaning with it as well? Just wondering about the choice on the Skinner vs the Hunter.

Also, BM's S30V has generally done right by me in other models; no worries there.

I have the other two in the set, both in G10 and would highly reccomend them.
The S30v is very good, the handles feel great in my palm, and they both keep a wicked edge.
If only I had uses for them they both just sit in a drawer.

I have one that a friend bought for me last year after I led him to a great spot to bag his first elk. I love it, the steal is amazing, holds an edge as well as anything I have carried in the past and I love to know it's on my hip. Mine is the Dymondwood (with the LEATHER sheath rather than the Kydex) and for a semi-traditionalist I wouldn't trade it for anything. But, honestly, either scale will work amazingly..... it really depends on your preference. That is why they made both. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Glad to see someone with the other pptions that's just as pleased as I am.
I am very jealous of the leather sheath though, I may try to buy one separately.

Have you held one? I ask because I wanted to buy one until I held one, it felt way too thin in my hand and I could instintly tell it wouldn't be comfortable in the hand for long periods of time. But acording to this thread many people like the feel, I would suggest that you hold it first before you buy it
