Just ordered the benchmade infidel BHQ green one since it is on sale. Was this a good move? First time I’ve tried an infidel...

Are there aftermarket clips for these things? Was thinking I might not want to do advertising for them with the big “infidel” scrawled on the pocket clip.

Also can we not turn this thread into a general benchmade bashing thread and just talk about infidel or otf stuff?

I tried one, it was nice but the double-edged blade was a deal breaker for me. Big, chunky, hand filling handle, a bit heavy. I don't like double edged blades because I tend to put my thumb on the back of the blade when I'm cutting things at times, and I'm a half-wit, so I just avoid double-edged blades altogether (which kills the Autocrat, the Benchmade OTF I most want to buy, because IMO G10>aluminum handles).

If you like metal handled OTFs on the larger side, it seems like a solid option.

Don't tell me what to do. Benchmade sucks! ;)

I have 2 Infidels and they both work perfectly. For the price a better steel
would be nice. They are very fun to play with and lock up is solid.
A pal who has microtech otf knives was surprised at how good the Infidel is.
He liked it!

Also, benchmade sucks.:p

You guys crack me up!

I’ve tried guardian tactical and microtech, but I like big knives (I cannot lie), so I’m hoping for this to be a keeper.

I've own a full sized (satin blade) and mini (black blade) Infidel; both w/black bodies. Other OTFs that I also own are a MT Halo V, a Protech Dark Angel and a Twist Tighe.

There are also 21 (soon to be 22) side-opening autos in my collection but that's another matter.

As for the OTFs, the Twist Tighe is my favorite for style, size and action. The Halo is the most "impressive" to open but really impractical to carry. The Dark Angel is the the lightest and most elegant.

I'd hate to lose or damage any of these OTFs. So, the Infidels are the and the ones that I would carry, if they were legal for me to carry in my state, because they are reliable, widely available and most easily replaced and repairable, if necessary. The mini is the more pocket worthy. The full sized can be pocketed but because of its bulk would be better carried in its sheath (on on a Molle vest) IMO.

I sent the mini to BH for reconditioning and their customer service was excellent, which is a good enough reason to buy one IMO. The only hassle was the need to send it in thru an "authorized" dealer, who took a small cut for providing that "service."

Not sure about the green body but scratches and dings show up quite easily on the black bodies of the Infidel. That's one of the reasons I sent the mini into BF for reconditioning; bought it used and wanted it to look "like new" again. So, if you plan to carry one, don't be surprised if your Infidel looks like it's taken a "beating" in a short time unless you are very careful about how you handle it.

However, if it gets so "beat up" that you just can't stand it, you can always send it into BF for reconditioning as I did my mini.
