Hi All !

I've just finished my new sheath for a Benchmade Mini Rukus.
3mm wet formed and ebony painted leather with beeswax.

Comments and critics are always welcome !

Regards, Raga

Very nice. Clean lines, straight stitching.

My only question is, have you had the velcro come use during any activity? In the past I've always used a pull the dot snap for removeable items.

Very nice! I'm glad to see you using Velcro. I've been using it (on the belt loops) for years on all the sheaths and pouches I make and find it to be the most versatile and functional improvement in sheath making I've seen! No need to open belts to put it on or take it off, it can be used on fixed strapping, and is just about bomb-proof! I've never had a Velcro strap open accidentally!

Very nice work you did Raga. I agree with Tal that this maybe your best so far. I love the design of it, if fact I would love to see you do a step by step tutorial on it. Great job.

So it's performance is acceptable as a snap? Guess I'm gonna have to play with velcro more.

More than 'acceptable.' I've used Velcro on my belt loops for the past 6-7 years, using two different configurations. One, as Raga has on this sheath for smaller, lighter knives, and a more hefty version using a double-sided Industrial strength strip from the bottom and two single-sided strips coming down sandwiching it. I also always use Velcro for the cover flap closure on folder sheaths. Never once had any of them open unless I opened them!!
