I got to hold a Bench Made Levitator with Titanium frame today. It is a neat small knife with an interesting locking mechanism which I am too ignorant to say what type of locking device it is. I enjoy working with a contractor friend who is a fellow knife nut, and I was really impressed with the ease of flipping this open in a downward direction while pressing part of the frame to release the blade. I have to admit, it took a slippie traditional guy a couple tries prior to getting it right. :o It is a great little knife. I do not own any Bench Made knives, but I may want to levitate, or uh, acquire one of these models. He mentioned that it is a discontinued model. So, the hunt now begins......First, check the piggy bank, he mentioned about 1.25 C notes for the said device. Next, for all of you who are Bench Made officianados, can you give me a comparable model to this one, if I cannot locate a Levitator? Oh, the sweet sublime addiction, there is a smile when the pain comes.......

Yes, it was about a 4" total open size knife. It is like the Bench Mite, I just saw that on Ebay. I now know why the difference in cost, titanium frame and 154 cm blade steel. So that is the hunt. I am really a traditional slipjoint guy, but if I can find this Benchmite with Ti handle and 154 cm, I may have to spring for one. I think that would be a good introduction to Bench Made. I know the brand represents quality.

Thanks Vic, I appreciate the thoughts on the matter. I will check into that as well.
