Benchmade Limited Edition

What would you do with a limited edition wrench?

For me, it's a tool, so unless you intended on saving it, use it. It's a nice expensive tool, so take care of it, but it was designed to be used.

If your sole goal is only potential resale value, or an heirloom gift, than you (should) already know the answer, and so why even ask the question?

Although there is probably a small community of people who seek out rare Benchmades from when they were producing decent higher quality knives, there isn't much long term value (or short term for that matter) in their current offerings. If you have something older and rare it might be worth hanging onto, but the company as a whole is jumping the shark in recent years by producing sub par knives at very overinflated prices. By making one of their knives a safe queen you're basically just letting your money deteriorate in a safe rather than getting some use out of it.

If you are spending your money to purchase an item, I have no business telling you what to do with your property. If you want to buy a Mora to display in a glass case on your mantle, have at it. If you want to buy a fully custom Marfione to pound in nails, you do you.
With that said, my recommendation would be to purchase and carry what you feel comfortable with using. If you want to carry a nicer knife but wouldn't want to use it for harder tasks, carry a second, more usable knife too.

The only BM limited edition I currently have is a mini Presidio II Shot Show exclusive in M4. Number 2xx something out of 1000.

I use the hell out of it, but it really just depends on whether or not you are concerned about resale value...

people said the same things about the 0392s because they made so many versions… check those prices now, if/when you can find one for sale… 😁
So yeah, I would say safe queen, unless you’re rich and happen to really like Benchmade, because For the money you could get a much better knife to actually use.
