Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Benchmade Lonewolf Hunter. I found them on a website for $20 and was wondering if they are worth the buy. How does the steel compare to 1095 and is there a better fixed blade for the price? I was looking into getting a few for my hunting buddies, but I can't find much info/reviews on it. Thanks in advance.

I got a few, mostly for stocking stuffers and one for myself because they were only $19 each. They were duller than butterknives, so I put them to the wicked edge and they took an edge very quickly. It's chinese stainless steel, most likely comparable to 440C, but I haven't put mine through any use at all so time will tell. I have another brand knife with the same steel used in this knife, and it dulls quickly. The grip is very small for me, and I don't have big hands. The sheath is a bit flimsy but serviceable. The scales are rubbery and grippy, but don't see them handling much abuse. I ended up giving the one I bought myself to my wife as it fits her hand nicely. She will use it when we hike and camp.

When I first saw the Hunter, I thought they looked decent and had thought of trying one out. They must not have been a big seller though, because they are now discontinued.
