Well it happened, I bought a Benchmade because of the Spyderco Sage……

I had some greenbacks set aside while I was waiting for the Sage to come
out, I also went back and forth a hundred times….Delica G10….or…..Caly 3.

Buy the Delica: Give up the finger choil design (most important for me in the
3” and under blade category.)

Buy the Caly 3: Compared to the Delica G10 you give up screw construction
and no lanyard hole.

While debating all this, the Sage comes out. I decide even more that I would
prefer a Spyderco from the US (Personal and Pride in the $100+ category)...

Then....

I'm at a local Benchmade dealer and hold a Mini Dejavoo for the first time.

S30V, G10, Lanyard Hole, Titanium locking liner, All screw construction, US
made and $100. Also, this is one knife that I can say, opens "butter smooth".

Bought it on the spot.

I can see why they say Benchmades are one of the best values for the $$$$.
I love my Mini Dejavoo way better than my UKPK. With the Mini Dejavoo at
the same price as the UKPK how could you not buy a Benchmade? Of course I
see that now. With the Mini Dajvoo in my stable, it's now going to be even
harder to buy a Caly 3 or Delica G10 when I am already eyeing a
960 Osborne for about the same money as the "Japan" knives.

More Mini Dejavoo pics here.

Nice purchase! I love my 740. Pictures don't really do the knife justice. It feels great in the hand. It's lovely to open & close. I love the thin blade & grind, and I've got it ridiculously sharp.

"pinarelloonly"
Thanks for the closeups!
Very nice knife.
Of the entire lineup of folders from Benchmade, the Dejavoo (with its deceivingly subtle looks) doesn't scream for attention and is definately not "loud".
I would liken it to "a matured design" with an appeal that one would have for fine wine and cigars.
It has an appearence which "growns on you"; for everytime attention is paid (if you know what I mean).
This must certainly be the magic of Bob Lum's design genius at work.
It's a magical knife which never fails to charm the handler.
Great work Bob, wherever you are!

I really like the pics, I just picked one up today. I have been meaning to go and get one but it never really struck me until you posted these great pics of the 745. I now have it!!!:D

The Dejavoo was definitely a great knife. I loved mine. The handle was very comfortable, and the knife looks awesome. Non so tactical, just beautiful.

Nice pics! Yes, Benchmades do feel good in the hand and have some nice blade designs (I like Spydercos too). But you really haven't experienced Benchmade until you've played with an Axis lock. Judging by your size preference, I'd say a Mini-Grip would be a good place to start- and for only about half of your $100 it makes a great EDC and hard use knife. Oh- and if you miss having a hole in the blade you can get it with one! ; )

I really like these, but I'd like to see some jimping on the spine for grip and a tip up option...just my .02, but I do really like these..Congrats on the new purchase!

Funny you should mention that because I have a "round hole" Mini-Griptilian on it's way to me now.

Nice pics and review. I traded my 745 off in favor of having a 740, which I really love. The larger size fits my purposes better, but still disappears in the pocket. I also like the "miles" of S30V, which is razor sharp after reprofiling.

740/745's the smoothest locking liner knife I've ever had the pleasure to own.
