No doubt this knife has been reviewed before but I'd just like to share a few thought on this knife:

Being in the EU I have little opportunity to examine American knives in the metal, I rely on the Internet and particularly others' reviews and pix.

The US based e-bay seller I bought it from is very reliable and serves me well, vital in my situation. I ordered the thumb stud Mini grip in 154 with yellow handles. Benchmade knives have a very decent box&the carry pouch is a nice touch. In terms of size, the Mini Grip is just right for me, I don't have large palms but do have long fingers. The knife feels very well balanced in the hand, totally reassuring in ergonomics, safe in handling which is very important. The finish of the knife seems flawless, can't find ANY source of complaint there. The opening action is smooth and the blade is excellently sharp.Pocket clip has the right amount of hold and the axis lock (not had one before)is ingenious  Is it reliable though??? The weight and size of the knife is good an all rounder not too heavy or in any way flimsy. The yellow colour is a bit garish...was expecting something more like CASE's yellow handle, but I wanted something visible if dropped.Talking of which, the knife feels rugged enough to take knocks and would be an excellent workman's/construction knife.Wet environment especially, what grip:D

All in all a very sound piece of American knife-engineering,very well worth considering but I myself don't feel at all DRAWN to the knife. We have all had that experience I'm sure. I much prefer my Spyderco Delica in foliage green (don't drop THAT in the woods:eek:)a very different knife but somehow Spyderco's eccentricity is always appealing.

Could I recommend the Mini G? Most certainly, it's a serious bit of kit.Would I want another Benchmade? Not sure, maybe not but this knife could grow on me.

I'm certain others will chime in, but I feel compelled to mention that you should try a Benchmade 940. I've had a number of folding knives over the years, but a few months ago I was in the market for something good to complement my Leatherman Charge.
I've gone to the knife shop many many times, being something of a knife nut in the world of chef's knives, etc. I hadn't really paid much attention to Benchmade for some reason, but everytime I put a Spyderco, Kershaw, etc. in my hands it just didn't feel like something I desperately needed. I have absolutely nothing against the other "better" brands, it's just that they don't scratch whatever itch it is that I have.

Recently when a salesman put a 940 in my hands while I was momentarily distracted and looking the other way, something about it just clicked even before I looked at it. Then as I saw the muted forest green, played with the axis lock, etc. I was enamored. Even the purple liner, though I don't usually like such things, was perfect.

So I know this veers off topic, but I would very much consider buying a 940. The griptillians don't scratch my itch like that knife does.

And with the Euro being so incredibly strong to the dollar these days, I'd think it'd be positively cheap to get American knives.

Actually, I'm beginning to warm up to it now! Used it in the supermarket to open up some packaged stuff, which it naturally sailed through, then somebody asks to borrow it, not bad!

I will take a look at this 940, green coloured knives always appeal.....but I don't NEED another knife....Heard that before!

Nobody does the 154 steel better than BM. I had an older Mini Grip 555 in the 440 steel and it was ok. The newer Grips in the 154 are da bomb.
