I like the look of the sexy little sheepsfoot model 555. I'd be grateful if someone could post pictures of their 555, preferably showing the thickness of the Mini Grip compared to, say, a Delica.
thank you,
Steve

Steven,
I can't do pictures for ya but my 556 is less than 1/2" wide at it's widest point, excluding the clip. It has more of a rounded handle compared to my 705s and is extremely comfy in the pocket. Hardly know it's there. If you are considering one, my advice is to jump on one as they are the ultimate EDC. You can see pics and specs on BM's site. have a nice day. dtsoll:)

Not meaning to hijack the thread but dtsoll, I'm curious to know how the mini grip 555 and the 705S compare to each other in size, weight, thickness and overall ergonomics? I just purchased a 705 and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. The 556 was also on my short list but after fondling a 705, the decision was made. I may still want a 556 down the road.

Thanks!

Drivie

Drivie,
Firstly, I'm sure you'll want a 556 down the road. The 556 is just a smidge lighter than the 705. The 556 has zytel scales that are more rounded than the 705's G-10 handles which are more squared off. The ergonomics are excellent on both for my hands anyway. The liners on the 705 are thicker and by looking the 705 may be just a tad wider, though only minimally. 556-440c, 705-154cm. Both are excellent knives. If I had to choose between the two I'd be hard pressed to make a decision although the 556 is dollar wise the better deal. I guess I like the 705's blade style better. You will want both Drivie, so stop stalling and order your mini-grip now:D dtsoll
P.S. For some reason my mini seems more smooth than the 705, as Sticky would say smooth as butta!:D
