Benchmade mini griptilian: Fake or Real?

I recently bought a used Benchmade mini-griptilian and have some concerns regarding its authenticity. For one, the star shaped screws appear too pointy. Also, it's very stiff when opening it using the axis lock.

Any thoughts?

its real but the axis lock looks a bit gummed up with crap and a good cleaning will do it wonders.

If it has a nice symmetrical edge grind on both sides.
If it has nice pivot action that doesn't stall out part way though a swing . . .
then it is more than likely a knock off.

If it has goofy edge grind and poor pivot action . . . then sure you got yourself a a "Genuine " Benchmade.

I wish mine were better; the pivot kind of disappoints me even after loosening it up and using it.

Just to open it normally with the thumb stud (rather than my preferred method of letting it drop open or closed) and not looking too close at the grind just using it. It is a nice usable knife.

I really do like this knife a whole lot I just wish it were more precisely made. I wish Benchmade would bring over some Chinese dudes (and dudetts) every year and get them to teach the new batch of American Benchmade dudes (and dudetts) how to make knives but more than likely our dudes would be too busy texting and spacing out to actually pick up any tips.

I have $20 Kershaws made in China that make the $100 Benchmades look silly.

I just received a Griptilian sheepsfoot combo edge. I thought I had ordered a mini. Oops. Regardless, the knife is absolutely rock solid perfect. Centered, perfect action, zero play, and sharp as any knife I've ever had. Still debating on if I return it, sell it here on the forum, or use the piss out of it. The last few Benchmades (3) that have come into my possession have been SOLID.
