I heard that that Benchmade donate a portion of the sale of Mini Griptilian in pink to some breast cancer research institute. Is that true? If so, I plan to buy one as a gift. What do you think which one should I buy, the one with thumb-stuck or the one with thumb-hole?

thats really a personal choice for you to make.......but i will tell you what i think anyways :) i prefer a plain edge with a thumb stud

I would have to agree with the majoirty and put a third vote for plain edge with a thumb stud!

Sheepsfoot will be good if the reciever of the knife may be doing cutting near flesh and won't want to cut the flesh (such as cutting a seat belt, clothes, etc). Some people say the sheepsfoot design is a better slicer and that the thumbstud can get in the way of some cutting tasks - however, I love it, and I think the classic drop point looks great :)

Thank you for all of your suggestion. It is for the sister. She probably put it in her purse. Her only knife experience was in the kitchen. She cut Asian style. I may go with the sheepsfoot design for that reason. If she is anything like my mom, she would not like pointy knife.
