Benchmade Mini Griptilian or Spyderco Manix 2

They are two totally different knives so I think it would be pretty easy to justify buying both:D Seriously though, I love the light weight and size of the Mini grip. I only have one gripe with my Manix2. It is just a little too wide in the pocket so it makes it hard to reach past it into my pocket. In the hand it feels great and the knife performs great. I still say get them both haha.

My mini grip gets more pocket time than all other knives combined (besides my SAK)

I vote Manix 2. I personally like it better but my mini grip is butter smooth and nice also.

They're both strong and will take alot of abuse. It really boils down to what size do you prefer.
If you choose to buy the Benchmade go for the sheepsfoot blade with the thumb hole. I think it has a slightly stronger tip than the drop point and the extra thumb ramp make the knife feel so much better in the hand.

I'd have to say the Manix 2, the mini-grip is a great functional high value knife, but every time I pick it up I can't get over the cheap feeling valox handle, there are replacement options but I refuse to spend over $100 for a new handle for a $70 knife. For my overall use I'd rather have the Manix 2, it feels much higher quality and solid overall, but it's bigger and heavier. The only way I'd go with the mini-grip is if I was on a budget AND needed something under 3". If I wanted a sub 3" benchmade with a little more budget, I'd go with the 707, similar blade with a thinner much higher quality feeling thinner handle, but I'd take the Manix 2 over either as long as I didn't mind the size.

The Ritter version hands down.
I have a Manix 2 I purchased two years ago with a black blade and partial serration, for me it's way too big for EDC, the Ritter Mini Grip opens
much faster and smoother plus it's easily thrown into a pocket, pack, or waist pouch.
For me the Manix 2 is too cumbersome and not very comfortable ergonomically.
The Manix 2 is more of a defensive tac. knife for me.

The Ritter Mini is the most comfortable knife I own, the Axis locks opens faster than an auto.
And I prefer the S30V steel.... and like the Glass-filled Noryl GTX scales which are very ergonomically comfortable.

A better comparison would be a full Grip and Manix 2. The mini Grip is comparable to a Delica, which is a good deal smaller than the Manix.

Between those two, the Manix gives better bang for the buck (blade steel, handle materials, choil) but slices pretty poorly. The Grip slices like a champ, but the blade and tip are thinner. My advice? Get both, because they are both awesome.

I took some advice from guys on bf and bought mini grip m4. It has been everywhere with me.
Smooth, lightweight, perfect size for me, I forget I have it. If something happen and I lost it, I would not hesitate to buy another.

I was shopping for a Manix 2 when I found a full size Grip with an oval thumb hole for sale in the exchange here.

I bought the full size Grip. I'll probably get a Manix 2 if I can ever find a sprint run with the FFG Blade.
