I just got the mini presidio 2 yesterday. I think it’s a pretty sweet little knife, however I noticed that if I shake it hard enough I can get it to fully open. I don’t have this issue with my PM3 so should I be worried about it opening in my pocket?

Nope, you don't need to worry. Most Benchmades do this; it's a function of the light detent provided by the Axis lock.

Do your best not to shake your pocket hard enough and you should be good to go
is it even possible to shake your pocket to open it? How would somebody even be able to pull that off? I am just using as an edc and would just be walking around doing normal tasks.

That’s what I was hoping to hear. It was just a huge difference between this and my PM3 or even my Efficient. Being new to knives I wanted to make sure I didn’t get a dud.

All my folding knives can be shaken open - it is just a matter of how much force I use. With that being said, Axis/ABLE folders are among the easiest to shake open while backlock is the hardest to shake open, and framelock, liner lock, and compression lock are somewhere in between.

Benchmade mini presidio 2 is a well-sized folder - it is longer than mini griptilian (which I think is just too small) but shorter than full-size griptilian. It is also very reasonably priced.

Jokes aside, I have both the Presidio and mini, they both have a lighter detent than my other BMs. They are the only BMs I have that drop shuts and is easily flick-able. The next runner up is my 943.

I really like the mini presidio. I haven’t ventured out to larger folders yet. I have a an Efficient, PM3, Mini Presidio 2, K-bar Dozier, and Gerber Gator.

I think it’s great so far. I’m not sure it’s super sharp so I may send it back to Benchmade for some sharpening. It’s also slightly off centered, but doesn’t bother me too much and it isn’t rubbing on the handle at all.
