Hi folks,

Recently, the Benchmade Mini Rukus (615) has grabbed my attention. I'm not quite sure what it is about the knife, but I'd really like to get one. However, I don't want to go ahead with the purchase only to be disappointed.

This will be my first Benchmade and first experience with the famed Axis lock.

If any of you guys have one, had one, thought about buying one, etc. can you let me know what your thoughts are?

Also, if you have one, how does it EDC? Is it really as 'big' as it seems, or does it 'disappear' once you put it in your pocket?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Cheers all.

ive had one for about 2 years. its slightly heavy in the pocket, otherwise its one of the best benchmades ive ever owned.the blade is super sharp, handle feels real good in the hand.blade shape is very useful for most cutting. deep pocket clip makes the knife disappear in the pocket. the only other gripe was the black screws, clip & liners, which i mirror polished.it makes a great knife even better.

When I first got mine I loved it, I used it every day at work and play until it failed. One day while at work the lock gave way under some heavy use at first I thought it was because I released the axis lock with one of my fingers but after some lite spine taps and repeated lock failure I knew there was a problem. I figured out that it was caused by a bad factory lock fitting and no other reason, I sent it back to BM and they did a exceptional job of getting it fixed and returning it in less than 3 weeks. I have carried it every day since I got it back and been putting it though its paces with zero failure's. At first I was very disappointed because it was my first BM and first axis lock but now I couldn't be happier, benchmade's service righted the wrongs and now I once again consider it one of the best knives in my collection. Get yourself one you will be happy you did.

Its also a great slicer though you wouldn't think so because of the style of blade grind.

polish job looks even better in person
