Benchmade Mini Rukus

I for one will be waiting to hear. This one, and the axis auto version, are on my short list to pick up. Hoping to find some of the ivory micarta scales ready for the mini! Lately my regular 610 Rukus has found a home in my pocket and I seem to reach for it first above the others. And I'm talking a very nice custom tactical and a very nicely modded Strider AR.
 
Thats what I like to hear. That is exactly my expectation for the mini. It is schedualed for tommorow 2/21/07. So hopefully tomorrow night I can write a good review. Thanks for the input.:thumbup: :D :thumbup:
 
I love my mini rukus. It’s a great knife. The only thing about it that I am not fond of is the pocket clip. Imho, It’s a little flimsy and gets in the way of what would otherwise be a very comfortable grip.
 
My wife got me the Mini Rukus for Christmas, and it has ridden in my pocket every day since. The blade shape and size, handle shape and size, Axis lock, just everything about fits me perfectly.
 
I can't wait for the review. i have been waiting for my Griptilian 551 for almost 3 months (placed on a back order by one of our dealers, can you imagine the anticipation I am going threw) so it will be nice to hear what you have to say about the rukus!
 
Great knife. It's been my EDC since Christmas (well, a few days before...). Easy to keep scary sharp. No problems at all with corrosion in south Texas' damp climate. (Of course, using it daily tends to preclude corrosion.) I think Benchmade has another classic here.
 
Hey marthinis , I have a grip 551 for trade if you would be interested. The 551 is the best knife I have ever had for an edc. It takes too much abuse acutally. And alberta, Sounds awesome. Are there any issues with chipping on the s30v. What people are saying is starting to worry me. I will have a review posted soon.:D
 
I love my mini rukus I used to rotate among 4 folders for edc. now its just my mini-rukus and my RAT-3 on me daily.
 
I was going to write a review about this knife , but i dont think its worthy. I just got it today. I am very impressed by the looks. But the handle is not comfortable at all unless doing heavy cutting. And I have very caloused and tough hands. the pocket clip annoys the hell out of me. Although I also think this is my favorite knife. Its so cool looking and tough as hell. Im going crazy. Im dont know. Ill play with it more and then post something.
 
You may have to give the 610 Rukus a looksee. That longer & wider handle may be more comfortable in your hand. I don't know if the overall size is an issue, but if not, the full size 610 is a great knife.
 
When I got my 615, I thought the same thing, “What a great knife, but why the hell didn’t they put a better clip on it?”

Keep playing with it. I won’t say that the clip ever becomes comfortable, but you might learn to tolerate it. Other than that, it’s a great knife.
 
Okay I made a previous post about the mini rukus being perfect I was outdoors this weekend I didnt have it with me. (I had my spyderco manix) My friend who was carrying his mini-rukus was complaining about the clip rubbing his hand so I swapped with him for an hour or so. After this expierience I traded mine when I got home.
 
Members like STR on these forums may be able to make a custom pocket clip that best fits your needs.
