So I got a small vial of glowing paint from Glowinc's V10 paint, supposedly the brightest glow paint on the market or something like that. I got the paint so that I could paint the sights of my new keltec pf9 so that they can act like a poor man's tritium sights (it worked out awesome by the way, if I charge it with a few seconds of a high lumen flashlight, it stays glowing all night even though it gets dimmer as the night goes on)

So I had tons of glow paint left over and started to make random things around the house glow, and I ended up putting a small bit of it in the hole of the thumbstud of my mini grip, and it looks great!

and sorry for the bad pictures!

been using it all day, but we'll see I guess

and it is apparantly some sort of solvent based, made for gun sights particularly, so it is supposed to be pretty wear resistant and water proof as well

but again, we'll see

Great idea Res1cue. If it's in the recess of the Torx heads, it should be resistant to wear and abrasion.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, and prior to doing this, I tightened the torx heads as much as I could, so there could be no chance of them loosening

If they do, I could always scrape them out.

Man, I just realized how much those pictures suck, it's way cooler lookin in real life

So you got the paint versus the powder they sell? Is the paint smooth like normal paint, or is it somewhat gritty like there are bigger particles suspended in it?

I have thought about ordering some and didn't know which to get although I only need about a teaspoon of the stuff. I was going to use it for the exact same thing you did, same gun and all.

How do you like the PF9? I have been carrying mine every day since I got it and really like it. It is a great size and easy to carry as well as not very heavy. It is cheap enough I don't mind if it gets beat up yet it has worked flawlessly. I have shot a couple hundred rounds through it and never a problem. I have shot cheap FMJ stuff on up to the expensive Hornady personal protection hollow points I keep loaded in it. Did you get the pocket clip that is made for it? That clip is the entire reason I bought the gun in the first place and it has turned out to be great. I can just stick the gun IWB without worrying about a holster that has a larger print.

Sorry to go off topic but the knife looks great too. I will have to do something similar if I ever get some of the paint.

So it is just kind of chalky, not really smooth consistency, and if you don't have the white backing like on the PF9 sights, the dots show up kind of sporadically. If you do have a layer of white behind it, it is smoothed out, and you can't even tell. Still it is better to put on a few layers. So I bought a half of a fluid oz for 10 bucks, and I painted sights on two handguns and a shotgun and two flashlight bottoms and a few other things, and I have used up probably 3% of it, so for like.. 13 bucks shipped? you literally have a lifetime supply of it.

It has turned out PERFECTLY for the PF9, I give it a few seconds with my surefire, before I go to bed, and I have woken up at 5 am to pee before, and it is glowing pretty strong. I ordered directly from glowinc, and make sure to get the V10 stuff, it is supposed to be the brightest of the bunch, and also intended for gun sights.

On the subject of the PF9, I absolutely love it. I can pocket carry it easily (and I am not a big guy, 5'10" and 180 lb) and I ordered the pocket clip for it as well for IWB carry. Glad it worked out good for you.

And yeah I have put 100+ winchester lugers through it, no failures, 20 gold dot JHP, no failures either.

I also have a Viridian C5L on the way (pretty sweet that the PF9 comes with a rail) so I'm pretty pumped on it, will keep you updated.
