Benchmade Monarch Question

I just got my Benchmade Monarch for my collection, something funky though ......

From all the picture I have seen I expected it to be a rather small knife, with a black thumbdisk for opening. When I opened it I was surprised that its a rather big fricker with no thumb disk or markings on the blade at all.

If it werent for the handle saying Benchmade I would think it was a fake

Any thoughts on why this knife differs so much from the factory norm ? Thanks

I'm going to post a picture later tonight when I can scan it.

There were several variations on the Monarch theme DM.
I have one model with a thumb disc and one with a weehawk style blade without the thumb disc.
They are full size Zytel with Kraton inlay working knives.
If you didn't pay too much, keep it. They don't make'em anymore.
