Well just got back from a camping trip and this is the first time I've really used this knife for anything at all.
I didn't do any specific tests to see how the knife would hold up or anything like that. Just used it when it needed to be used.
Used the Nimravus to hack and cut away at a broken branch that we used as a walking stick for our hike (didn't have an axe on us). The branch had actually been a little frayed from before and the Nr just finished it off. The branch had about a 2" diameter and I expected that all that hacking would've completely dulled my edge but it didn't.
Later used it to pry the griddle up from our fire and the tip held up well too. The griddle probably weighed about 7 - 8 lbs. I know knives are not prybars but I did it anyway.
Did a lot of rope cutting which was no problem and also cut open a lot of pop cans just for the heck of it of it.
One thing that wasn't great for hiking was it's Kydex sheath though. Wasn't secure enough...it would've been a lot more secure if it had a clip around the handle too. Also I would've been much more confident with it if it had a proper guard to stop my wet hand from sliding all the time. I think a kraton handle would've been better in the rain than the G10. Well, it was designed as more of a tactical knife than a camping knife so I'm not suprised at my discoveries in the rain.
One thing I didn't like was that my G10 faded to a greyish colour which seems kinda odd when my AFCK went through the same kind of conditions and the G10 on that knife is still as black as when I first got it. Not a huge deal though.
My Nimravus performed well for what I used it for and after a little cleaning and maintenance it still cuts like mad. The only signs that it was taken on a camping trip is the ugly, scratched up BT coating.
