I discovered that fixed blade knife in a cuttlery in Paris and i said "wow it looks pretty cool!"
Do you have any opinions on that model????
Thanks.

I haven't read the thread so this may be repetitive, but the black coated blades tend to lose their coating fairly quickly and look a lot less attractive. However, I'm sure they still cut fine.

When it first came out, I couldn't wait to get it into my hands so I ran to the nearest knife shop that had it in stock.

Loved the look, loved the blade profile, loved the size... HATED the feel of the handle! I have large hands, and it didn't fill them like I would expect from a fixed blade. In fact, with the tang extending out beyond the scales, it felt almost like I was holding a folding knife which isn't bad but not what I'd choose for laborious work that I often do around camp.

Judging from the overwhealmingly positive reviews on this knife, I suppose it fits most hands much better than mine, but try it before you buy it.

I do agree with Happy Camper (and thanks for posting the review Berke). I bought one for my nephew as a gift.., and used it pretty extensively on a small mountain adventure we did together.

I also have biggish hands.., and it just didn't feel quite right for continuous cutting chores.

I also thought it cut very well for a production knife, and held an edge well.., so my concern would just be for the overall feel of it to you personally.
