I'm wanting to buy a EDC fix blade I looking at the Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter or the Esee Izula or the Can-b Candiru. I do not know how hard it is to sharpen the S30V steel in the Benchmade. I have a knife in D2 steel an don't care for it. This knife will be carried in my front left pocket. Is there anything else that would work , the price of the Benchmade is as much as want to spend. Thanks for the help

I would personally suggest the Candiru because of the size and it just looks cooler than the rest. :)

Candiru. Great little knife, great ergos, great steel, and the newer ones come with the plastic sheath. And a No Questions Asked, you break it for any reason, and ESEE replaces it.

ESEE. You can get 2 for the price of that Benchmade.

S30V isn't hard to sharpen, especially if you have experience with D2.

The Esee is great. I would lean towards the Benchmade for EDC use probably with it being stainless.

Bradford Guardian 3 is a GREAT choice as well.

I started with the ESEE's and stayed with them for some time and then went with the Becker Knives but then again went back to the ESEE Knives and I carry in the small of my back an ESEE 3 most of the time and I really don't think about it being there most of the time.!** Trouble is that both of them are good Blades.!^^

Take a look at the ESEE Izula or Izula II, the Candiru is too small if you have man-size hands.

I have a benchmade in s30v and I really love the steel. In terms of sharpening, it's certainly not the easiest but it's not too tricky.
However, with the carbon steel of the esee you'd have a much, much easier time. I have to really sit down to sharpen s30v but can bring my carbon steel blades back with just a few passes on the strop.
