About to be unleashed at a Benchmade dealer near you: the model 921 Warren Osborne designed double blade Axis Lock! This is by far THE slickest, neatest, and best looking collaboration knife Osborne and Benchmade. The main wharncliffe blade is 3.5" long and is ground out of S30V, and operates off of the Axis Lock. The secondary blade is 2" long and is ground out of 440C (IIRC) and operates off of a slip joint. Enough chatter, let's check out the pics!

One slick-looking piece! Thanks as usual for your on-the-spot heads-up. One of those is in my future.

Holy cow. That is about the slickest thing I have ever seen. I think this could be "the one" and I havn't even touched it.......yet.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\.-========= that last line was typed by my cat.

Thanks for the pics, I will be buying one of these knives as soon as they are available.

Looks really cool.
Not sure if this will be "the one" seeing as I think my TSEK AXIS is "the one", but hey!

Any idea how much in buckaroonies it's gonna go for?

YC, you're lookin' to cough up 190 buckaroonies for this assuming you like paying retail :barf:

Motto of life - N.P.R. Never Pay Retail :D

When I see something like this I just wish I was not retired and had more spending money!

Dexter,

Is this knife much thicker than the usual suspects (710, Ares, etc.)? I'm wondering how clever they managed to be as far as accomodating the 2nd blade without making the knife uncarryably thick.

Joe

Oupa - I dropped by Mike's office this morning and let him fondle the 921....he should be rubbing your face in the dirt through email :p

Joe - the overall thickness is about the same as the 940, believe it or not. I'll capture a shot of the handle spine showing the second blade in the closed position so you can see the thickness and post it here. It is very lightweight even though it packs 2 blades.

$190, if i'm not mistaken, is the MSRP for an M2 710. So that'd translate into $112.50 at New Graham Knives :)

Handle thickness comparison. The new 921 Osborne is flanked by the 940 Osborne (top) and the McHenry & Williams 710 (bottom).

Thanks Dex! Pretty amazing, they just snuck that slip-joint right along the spacer. I'm starting to admire this thing

Hmmmmm......I've seen this concept before. On my
Myerchin "Alaska Guide" model. One differance is
on the Myerchin BOTH blades lock:D

Dexter!

You post it with a blade at 3.5", Benchmade text calls it 3.3"
from your recent scan the blade does seem just short of the BM940 blade...can you take a scale to that knife and measure her up?

And thanks for the pics!!!

G2

Hi Gary - the 940's blade measures up to about 3.4" (double checked w/BM site, it says it is 3.4"). The blades of the 921 and 940 are about the same size.
