Was bored today so I went through tons of vids on youtube of past SHOT and BLADE shows, and finally my interest was sparked on the Benchmade Paul lock knives. Do you have one? How do you like it? Have you ever had any problems with it, like lock failing, etc? Sell me on this one, if you don't mind. :D

Best,
Trev

I have owned two of the Lone Wolf Paul knives. I really liked them and have been thinking about buying a Benchmade version. The Paul lock isn't perfect, but is novel and seemed secure.

I have a Ritter RSK Mk4.

I like it. The Paul lock is totally unique and the coolness and ease of use is second only to the Axis lock.

It isn’t a rock solid lockup but I don’t care. It’s a small knife. It is plenty stable and has never failed.

It is one of the few knives I have that everyone wants to check out, even non-knife people.

I love my lone wolf paul knife, as said above it's a good lock up with it's own flaws.

I bought a Benchmade Paul a while ago. Returned it as the lock didn't engage properly and light pressure on the spine caused the blade to close.

Shame as I liked the design..

I collect Lone Wolf knives. I've got around 12-15 Paul folders, a bunch of Harsey's too. I have Paul Defender, Prankster, Pocket, and executive. I don't carry any of them, I keep them as collectables only. They are IMO great looking and cool, they are sharp and solid and could be good carry knives. I have 2 Benchmade Pauls as well they are equal in quality I think. The Benchmade Pual Prankster (they call it 154 or some other #) would be the one I would carry, it's the strongest one.
I wanted to add that I contacted Benchmade because my LWPaul Defender w/Cocobolo pivot locking system is getting loose. It still locks up solid but there's a little rattle when you shake it when it's closed. They told me that you need a special tool and from Lone Wolf and they don't have it. I said "You guys made a line of Paul's, you have to have the tool" But the guy replied "sorry sir we can't help you". I don't know, I feel that's kind of shady. Theres no way to tighten that pivot w/out a tool. I would try to take it apart and figure it out myself but it's a $250 knife, I don't want to fuck it up.

I've got a LW Paul Defender in Cocobolo and really like it. Beautiful knife.
The Paul lock takes a little getting use too since its a bit different that what we normally see.
Gives very nice audible feedback when it engages.
Aside from functioning pretty darn well, there is definitely a certain cool factor.

Haven't handled any of the BMs, but hopefully they didn't screw up the design.:D
