In terms of overall quality, fit and finish, are these about equal, or is there a difference?
Any similarity between speed of one handed deployment?

I have had both and they are different knives, similar designs but totally different personalities.

The Pika has a stiffer lock bar and is slower to open because of it, still quick and easy though.

The Pika has a sharper tip and is much better at piercing, but the Endura has a much stronger tip.

I would say that the Endura is heavier duty and the one I would take to a construction site without worry.
The Pika is a better slicer and the knife I wouls chose to say break down a lot of cardboard.

I would be willing to bet that most people will tell you to get the Endura.

The Pika does not compare to the Endura, the Byrd Cara Cara maybe. A better comparison for the Benchmade Pika is the SOGzilla, since both were obviously inspired (i'm being kind here) yet inferior to the Endura.

Check out the Cara Cara 2 if you want an Endura alternative. FFG blade, 4way clip and G10 grips for less than $30.

There is just one reply with arguments (different tips a.s.o.) and the rest is just talking without giving a hint, why s.o. says, the Pika is less than the Endura:thumbdn:.

Just believe, the Endura is better?

From the price point, you can´t get so much more in the Endura, so the Pika has a point more. That was always the reason i regret buying an Endura or Delica, even though i never bought a Pika too.

BTW the 806 has had a chamfered hole too. I never had any trouble opening it. So what is "fail" in that?

Because the 806 doesn't have nearly as deep a chamfer, and because it doesn't have a heavy backspring your thumb must work against. If your thumb is even a tiny bit slippery it will slide off the blade instead of opening it.

I love my 806-- and comparing it to a Pika is like comparing Secretariat to a camel.

News flash, the Pikas haven't had a chamfered hole in years. It is now the same type hole as Spyderco. I never thought the chamfered was in issue with mine, and I had the mini and the full size.

BJE, I'm curious which Endura model you are comparing to the Pika in slicing capabilities? I have found my FFG Vg10 and ZDP-189 Sabre Endura's to be superior slicers to the Pika 440C I had. I can't speak of the 9CR13 Pika's but my understanding is the blade geometry is basically the same. I do agree with you on the tip of the Pika. The old Endura's had a more prominent tip and perhaps tip breakage is why they changed to the current design. There is definately a trade-off when it comes to tips.

I am referring to the Endura 4 sabre VG-10. It didn't slice cardboard as easliy as the Pika. It wasn't a huge difference, but a notable one. I am sure your FFG Endura is a much better slicer like my Military is.

I don't find any of the sabre ground Spydies to do well with cutting cardboard. I do however have a sabre ground Delica 4 in my pocket right now, so I am certainly not against them.

I dont have an endura so i cant comment on that (although from what i hear it's a fantastic knife) but i do have a Pika and i've never had a problem opening it, i can flick it open no problem.

The hole on mine still remains chamfered. :)
Then you need a new Pika:D.
The Harley Davidson models have hollow ground blades, unchamfered holes, and G-10 handles for around $40. I have handled a few and they are quite nice. If I were in the market for a Pika that is what I get.

One other thing the Pika has going for it, low rider pocket clip, looks more like a pen than SOG clips do.

I don't know if the new Pikas still have the low rider clip, but I prefer the older Zytel over the newer Zytel, I like the little dimples on the handle and the plastic wasn't as shiny.
