who has the best price on bm? looking for a 710. best i've found so far is $102.85 at advancom sporting goods on yahoo shopping.

comments/suggestions welcome.

Sometimes the best is not really the best.

Order from 1stop or Michael Dye, or any other paid dealer.

You get what you pay for.

not sure what you mean. if i get ripped off i just dispute it with my cc company, problem solved. what else is there?

Dude, look around.
Where are you?

If this place wasn't here where would you be asking this question?

The places I named support Bladeforums.

So should you.

the money from gold memberships and dealers isn't enough?

so it's not that others aren't "the best", they just don't support bf?

You might want to ask around the forums as to the advantages of the M2 blade model, which is the 710HS. I'll assume that the $102.85 price is for the ATS-34/154CM bladed 710, which is cheaper.

The 710HS is $118 at Sableco.

After learning a bunch of information here, you might think about getting a paid membership. It was definitely worth it for me.

yes, the 154cm model. how is the M2 steel better? i've bought from sableco before, donnie is good folk.

Dude, its like this: the previous opinions are on track. On this forum you will find 500 gazillion knife buyers/collectors/fanatics who most likely are buying knives at least on a monthly basis. These guys (gals included), ain't gonna mess around with an unreliable dealer who has poor service and or reputation. Maybe a certain dealer has the lowest prices, but his customer service most likely really sucks. Go with the above recommended dealers. Why take chances??

The simple fact is that the server isn't running on our home machines, it has like dual processors, and multiples of your home computer's ram (for some that number could be in over a hundred times the amount the RAM, but that would be fairly old machines - in short, in Gigabytes) and it has a monstrous RAID array to store all the data for this forum and to keep access time for a reasonable amount. Also the bandwidth is pretty crazy. With over 10k users and unknown amount of lurkers around, the bandwidth would be in MegaBytes per second, nothing like what broadband offers.
In short, the gold membership and stuff often aren't enough to keep a server running.
I'm a poor student who have just recently wasted his money, otherwise I'd pay for the membership in an instant.
Now besides clearing up the fact about the servers, you should be able to find good deals on the exchange forums. I have dealt with Michael Dye at New Graham Knives and he's a great guy to deal with. It's fairly hard to find Benchmades to be quite far below MSRP.... probably some quirk with Benchmade themselves. I haven't deal with 1SKS cause it doesn't seem to ship with anything else other than UPS and that would definately kill me for the Tax (and/or duty) and the brokerage for paying the tax. I prefer USPS.

Benchmade has a policy in place, called MAAP (Minumum Allowable Advertised Pricing) that dealers must follow in order to carry their products, so most dealers pricing is very close.

Try asking a dealer if he or she will give you a better price, and if not, try another one. Most reputable dealers will at least price match if you can prove the lower price someplace else.

We encourage people to support the paying dealers here, so they continue to support the forums. Please check the Exchange forums for a dealer who will give you a fair price, and has good customer service to boot.

The forums are expensive to run, and the memberships, be it dealer, gold, premium, or knifemaker, don't completely pay the bills; The owner picks up the balance from sales at his knife dealership. ( www.1sks.com )
