About 4 years ago I bought a new Benchmade single edged push knife from a knife store in Fort worth Texas. It did not have the regular butterfly on it. A few people I showed it to thought it was a knock-off. I feltthat I had been had. I e- mailed benchmade and they confirmed that it was a Benchmade knife. I was told 500 serrated and 500 non serrated knives were made. If I remember best; this was a proto type knife. I asked the customer service rep why no butterfly and he couldnot tell me. Does anyone know of other Benchmade knives without the butterfly ?
