Just got a Bradley Alias 2 in the mail today The blue one . I have to say if benchmade wont step up there QC this might be the last benchmade I buy . I have bougt about 10 benchmades this year and about 75% of them the blade is off center or the grinds on the blades are off . The alias blade is off center , the edge is off on the grind , the tip is blunt plus there is a nick in the TI frame . Come on benchmade get with it . 172.00 $ knife should be right the first time We should not have to send it back . I love benchmade knives but ZT and Spyderco are seeing more of my money . Sorry guys but I had to rant !!:(

Mine was in pretty good condition. Matter of fact the Alias 1 was probably the best put together benchmade I own. Maybe I got lucky. Don't have these knives anymore though as my sebenzas completely blew them out of the water in every category. Though, for the price I don't think you can beat it, unless one gets one like the O.P.

Ok, I'm confused :confused: Isn't the Bradley Alias 2 made by the Bradley Cutlery Co.? not meaning to sound ignorant here...

No worries :D
I have a Bradley Alias II on the way this week. It's a user that looked to be in ok shape. I hope that it's not on it's last legs.

I have an alias II And love it..

Yes the blade tip is a bit off center in closed position . I'm sure I could adjust it if needed.
I liked so much just got a 2nd.
I also own several other benchmades .. Subrosa,DR minigrip, mini Barrage and a few older pardue style BM'S .... But I seem to carry the Alias every day

Try it I think you'll like ..

I have 5 Aliases (three I's, and two II's) and four of them (the older four) were perfect out of the box. The fifth one (which is my latest acquisition) had two small flaws: (1) The grind is a bit uneven on the swedge (but not enought to bother me); and (2) the blade wasn't perfectly centered (however, after disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling it, the blade centered up nicely -- it moves from right to left as the pivot screw is tightened).

BTW, I also have a 1st Ed. Mayhem, and it's flawless. So I have had pretty good experience with Bradley/BM QC.

Benchmade manufactures the Aliases and I believe the Mayhem. Kershaw does the Kimuras.

Bradley doesn't actually manufacture any knives as far as I know.

Bradley does the designs, Benchmade and Kershaw do the knives. As far as overall Benchmade QC, I can't fault them. I've purchased 5 Benchmades in the past 4 months with nary a thing amiss with them. I have heard and read about some getting through QC that shouldn't have, but QC has to have put a hex on you for some reason!!;):)

I fixed the blade centering buy puting a thicker spacer in and evend up the grind on the edge . I know i'll buy more benchmades ,just had to vent .

I have I believe 15 Benchmades- some older models as well as some of the latest- and only one of them, a well-used Stryker Elishewitz, has any flaws at all. Its blade is a tad off-center but it isn't hurting anything. I think just about all the major manufacturers do a good job with their QC. But it's not a perfect world......
