hey guys i am thinking about getting the BM 950 rift, but i am just wondering how's the tendency of the blade of benchmade to stay closed is compared to spydercos(delica 4 specifically cause that's the only one i owned). do you think the blade could open a bit if there's a lot of vibrations?
Thx

The Axis lock doesn't keep the knife as tightly closed as a lockback, but you shouldn't ever have a problem with it opening in your pocket. Carried tip down, the spine of the blade will be against the back of the pocket anyway, so it won't be going anywhere.

Axis Lock is pretty good at keeping blade closed. Second after lockback, and way ahead of any frame or liner lock. No worries there.

ive never had an axis lock knife open in my pocket, its a very strong lock. you shouldnt ever have a problem with that

Wouldn't Tip Down put the blade spine opposite of the back of the pocket? That's how all my Tip Down knives are anyway...

But yeah, the Axis lock keeps the blades from opening up in your pocket.

my new Mini Presidio Ultra keeps the blade retained better than the Grips I've owned... I recommend it to ANYONE... This knife is GREAT! I am a STICKLER for closed retention... It even kinda killed the Sebenza for me after 8 years of EDCing it.

I have a PE 950 and love it, no issues with coming open in my pocket or anything. The axis lock is popular for a reason.

Yeah, I think he meant tip up. If you pull the blade out just a little bit on an axis lock, it snaps back in. I have never heard of one opening up in a pocket before.
