First of all, is there anyone that can "professionally" convert my BM940 to a single thumbstud?

Secondly, are there any plans for an aluminum-handled 710 w/M2?

A while back there was a forum member named Corduroy who made various enhancements to Benchmade knives. He posted pictures of the finished work and the results were very nice. You might look through the older posts to try to get his email address and contact him.
 
I'll bet that Frank Recupero could do it nicely and add a bit of fancy file work to the knife for you while he's at it.
