Anybody know a sheath compatable with a Benchmade Rant bowie? I want a kydex sheath if possible. I dont want to make my own but I will if I have to.

Hey dberry - unfortuantely I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know there are definitely smaller companies or individuals that'll make custom kydex sheaths for any knife (just do a quick search online and you'll find a few), that way you wouldn't have to make your own . i've been wondering the same thing as i'm strongly considering picking up the rant drop point.

that being said, what's your opinion on the rant in general (regardless of blade shape as that's more personal preference)? had trouble finding out if it was flat ground or hollow ground, but most ppl i've heard from say flat ground...any input? stand up to some abuse? hold an edge well? sounds like benchmade's 440C is heat treated pretty well. comfortable handle when being used extensively?

if you find a kydex sheath that's compatible, let me know and i'll do the same! i do remember mention of someone trying the sog seal pup sheath with the rant but it didn't fit, so there's one that at least is apparently not compatible :thumbdn:.

I like the rant. I have a clip point version. It is a good camp knife. It has seen quite a bit of rain and dirt and I have minor batoning with it. It has help up just fine. I dont like leather sheaths especially this one. I dont know if it is my sheath or the design in general but when you resheath the knife it cut the inside of the sheath where the folds of leather come together. It is a tight fit which is the important thing but it just is not my preference. I will say it is a great value for the money, in my area you can find them for around $60.

The factory sheath is a large part of what has made me pass on these, even though I like 440C.
