Hi all, first post here.

I wanted to get everyone's opinion on carrying a rift 950 as an edc. I have read that it is a pretty hefty knife. I love the design so much that I really want to get one, but I wouldn't want it to just sit in a drawer at home.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Mine carries well. I don't find it too heavy or too large for a good EDC. It opens smoothly and easily and has no blade wobble, etc. Of course, it shouldn't. I usually alternate it with my Ritter Grip as an EDC. I also think the grey/black handle is cool, but others don't. Each to their own.

my best friend owns one and he carries it. its too big IMHO to carry. i would love one as just a display knife. the blade design is great, and the handle looks so exquisite.

I guess it depends on how you define hefty. I am used to carrying larger heavy duty folders, and something around 8 ounces or so would be sorta normal. From that perspective, the Rift is a lightweight. If I was used to a 2 to 3 ounce knife, then the Rift woiuld seem heftier. I've had one and I really enjoyed it and found it easy to carry.

So I just got back from looking at the knife....

LOVE IT. It does seem a tad bit larger than i thought it would be though. Working in the office, I don't think i can pull that off as an EDC. It is as solid as a rock though, just as I expected. It also looks even better in person. Also, I did find that I really like the Osborne and the Apparition a lot more in person than I thought I would.

So from one issue to the next...need to decide which one out of those 3 I want to pick up next.

I find the Rift 950 is a fairly easy knife to carry. It has a flat handle and the weight will not be overly noticeable. At the present, it is one of my favorite EDCs.

Just been checking the Rift out myself, funnily enough.

Personally I like big, but I realise its not for everyone.

I think they are all cool knives. If not the Rift, I would vote the Apparition with the steel bolster. That's a sweet blade. ;)
