I finally tracked down a dealer with the rare Benchmade 950bk Rift. This is the black non serrated blade with the two tone charcoal/black handle. I knew this was a sharp looking knife but honestly the pics dont do the Rift justice. This knife is a work of art. Blade lock up is rock solid with absolutely no play. The knife action comes a bit stiff right out of the box but a bit of gun oil and working the action in front of the hi-def transforms it into lightning fast opening and closing. This is a very easy task to do because the Rift is one of those knives you want to handle and fondle just because it feels so good in the hand. The G10 two tone charcoal/black handle is rough in all the right places to give it a no slip grip in the wet but smooth under the pocket clip to not tear up your pants. Benchmade was thinking with this design and it shows across the entire knife. I took the knife apart to see how everything works and it was easy and enjoyable. The pillar construction will be great in the woods field dressing deer. The 154cm blade is shaving sharp. This knife immediately became my favorite knife in my collection. It has knocked off my HK 14210 from this years hunting/edc knife status. My wife has claimed the HK as her own so I dont feel bad about the Rift reigning king of my collection.
I measured the thickness of the knife not counting the pocket clip..My caliper read 14.50mm

The scales/rib caged design of the Rift goes great with my Grand Raptor II

Great knife.

How do you find the bump on the handle? I keep feeling that it was meant for larger hands than mine; I always see photos where the pinky sits nicely behind the bump and all is dandy, but I just felt it getting in the way. A pity because the blade on this knife is seriously awesome.

Got one the other day...I agree with your comment about the action being stiff, perhaps because it is still so new. Nonetheless, she is certainly a keeper.

The last bump fits my hand perfect. It seems to always be in the right position every time I pick the knife up.
