I've been staring very hard at the BM 950 Rift for very long now. That knife is absolutely splendid-love the G10, the blade shape, the grind, the lock. When I tried it in hand the little bump got in the way unless I held it way back, which I don't like.

Is there any way to reshape the handle bump-less without affecting the lock, grip, etc?

Tom Krein has done some work like that on the Gayle Bradley m4 folder from Spyderco. I suspect he could do the job professionally. I also think Phil Dobson could do it.

Yay :) I've heard that Mr. Krein is no longer doing knife mod work though. I've seen the mods he did on the Gayle Bradley, and they are very well done.

Never hurts to shoot him an email, although as busy as he is, it may take a while to respond.

The section between the two concave cutouts. Basically there's a large cutout for most of your fingers and then another one for (I imagine) the pinky. The bump is between these two.

The bump is not in the path of the pocket clip, nor is it going to expose the cutting edge if it were to be ground off.

I just checked the one in my pocket.
