Hi guys,

Today i went to my local knife shop with the intent of picking up a griptilian...sadly though they were sold out:(

There i was with the desire nay the urge to get a new knife, but no grip....then my eyes spied a BM Rift...it looked really good, felt good...but of cause it also was around twice as much as a grip..

So, what i want to ask you, is this knife worth the extra money? or should i just wait for a grip?
Mostly, i will be using it for EDC though it would also follow me on camping/fishing trips

As mentioned, i like it, the only thing that i don't quite like is the "thickness" of the blade..it seems a bit thin...or do i simply worry too much?

Hi, I have both the Grip and the Rift. Both are great knives, but the Rift is more controversial in terms of its looks -- my friends think the Rift is ugly! (because of the looks of its handle). I don't think the blade of the Rift is too thin (actually I quite like the shape of its blade), but if you're planning to use the Rift as EDC the texture of the handle may prove to be a bit uncomfortable if you are using it for an extended period of time. On the other hand if you will be wearing gloves then it offers great grip.

the Rift is my EDC, no complaints good steel, nice knife. I havn't had any problems with it.

The Rift is my edc. I can say it carries nicely for me, feels good in the hand and has decent steel. It also has a somewhat different look than most knives.

I loveeee Rifts and I don't even own one, though I'm not sure why.

I've handled them and used them for basic cutting tasks, and I'd take it over a grip any day of the week.

Hm. Off to search the exchange.

I have 2 Rifts 950-1 (Black) 950 (Charcoal/Black) it turned out that on this batch of G-10 the charcoal is actually blue. Think of it, Blue/Black Rift.
I have a number of Grips. Same blade steel on both. Same lock AXIS. Grip, Light, tough and worry free. Rift, heavy, Tough, worry free, IMO a work of art. I don't often carry the rift. But I carry a grip often and would carry the Rift as well. Choice is yours and you can't loose.
