Benchmade Ritter Mini Grip CPM M4 sharpening question

I sharpen mine on a Wicked Edge set at 20 degrees per side and it is a laser.

I'm pretty sure that the original grind angle was 15 degrees.

15 a side would be a good place to keep it. i strop my gayle bradley after using a sharpmaker set at 30deg. is much sharper than stock especially after some stropping. though the GB has no room for a backbevel on its edge yours might benifit from a backbeveling at something less than 30 first.

My M4 Rift I put a 10 deg per side edge bevel and then about a 30 deg micro bevel. It has held up well except when I dropped the tip on concrete and about 1/32" folded over.

I would keep the stock angle for a little while. If it chips or rolls commonly, go steeper for the more durable edge. If not, go thinner until you do notice some chipping or rolling in regular use. Then back off a few degrees.
I usually find 10 degrees per side the limit for most steel types, but re-beveling a knife to that angle is a lot of work.

Were talking about M4 here, 20 degrees per side is a waste of a good steel.

Use the thumb studs as a angle guide :)

It called a super steel for a reason, normal edge angles no longer apply.
