I have a Benchmade Mini-Ambush with the rolling lock and i'm looking for people who have experience with this lock. The problem is the lock has loosened up. And by that I mean i am now able to flick it open with my wrist, while before it wouldnt budge no matter how hard i flicked it. When i use the thumb studs to open it, it doesn't snap open like before. All screws are tight, and when the blade is open, the lockup is still solid. Anyone else experience this?

age my friend, either send it in for repair or better yet give it away and buy a BM with AXIS lock, the mini griptillian is a great place to start + it has a much better blade steel.

I believe the Mini-Ambush with the rolling lock was an overseas import model, meaning it was cheaper and not the usual Benchmade made in USA quality as the blue and black class knives. I would just chalk up your problem to what happens to $30 knives after you use 'em a while, usually need to buy another knife. In your case, however, send it to BM, and they will either fix it or send you a new knife.

alright i was just wondering if anyone else had it and if there was something specific i could fix or send it back or what.

I have had two mini ambushes. both "in-draft bars" broke. This is what has happened to yours. When you cycle the knife, you have to overcome the pressure applied by the in-draft bar. Over time the steel is weakened and breaks. I am not sure if it is #1) number of total cycles or #2) rapidly repeated cycles heating the steel. I feel it is #2. This same thing happens to Kershaws A.O.torsion bars. Hpe this helps. You can send it in and on the next one, try not to cycle it repeatly. (this would be impossible for me to do!) good luck!
