I like the looks of this knife, but have reservations about buying one until I hear more first hand reports. I have heard stories about chipping with the s30v steel. Has anyone had chipping issues with this particular blade? Would I be better off with one of Benchmade's D2 blades?

Dude you are opening a can of worms you prob don't want. Do a search and good luck. From what I have read you cannot go wrong with the RSK and I am also a huge fan of all BMs esp D2. Buy one of each!

TC is right - you're opening a can of worms!

The RSK series in S30V is a great set of knives. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Look at it this way: If you have any problem with them, you have two companies that will totally back them up: Aeromedix and Benchmade.

FWIW, I have three RSK knives, and haven't had any problems with them.

It's a good knife. If it chips, and it may, sharpen it on diamond hones. Most of the chipping seems to be from overheating during sharpening. Once you're past that thin layer the knife behaves well.

If that doesn't work, then sending it back will get you taken care of.

Mine was good out of the box, as was the little one in yellow that I'm carrying today.
