I bought my new BM 610 RUKUS on a lark - for pocketable bushcraft use. It has a great handle, AXIS lock, and a drop point 4.25" x .15" dull finished blade of S30V. The blade seems fairly straight ground to the short bevel. It may be a candidate for a convex edge.

Any ideas, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

PS For dedicated woods, ie, bushcraft, use, my Vic SAK 'Farmer' will be in another pocket.

I used the mini Rukus for that purpose for the past year. Worked just fine... doesn't rust and holds a very fine edge for a long time, but I didn't need to baton anything... or use it for anything else that required a fixed blade.

I liked having a fixed blade though, so I got a 4" one from a maker here.

I've been wanting to try the RUKUS for quite some time. It looks to be a great candidate for Bushcraft as you suggest. Now I have to think about acquiring one a little more seriously.

I think it's a beautiful knife. I wish my favorite knife manufacturer made a similar knife, but they don't, and I'm thinking of getting the Benchmade.
