I just bought a Benchmade Mini Rukus and I have to tell you this knife is awesome. I finally found that perfect folder in the never ending search.:D

The knife is a work of art, the axis lock is incredible, the S30V steel blade is sharper than anything I have ever owned.

Benchmade just became my favorite manufacturer. You pay a little more, but you get way more for the money.

Just wanted to pass this on in case you are still searching too.

Gotta Love Benchmade knives

Loving my mini Rukus too. Love the blade shape, the handle, the Axis lock, everything really. Also handles EDC stuff, then carries right into the field too.

Does the Mini Rukus have metal liners the whole length of the handles or are they like the Grips with a little steel but mostly all plastic?

The Mini-Grip has full steel liners, the full size does not.

The Mini-Rukus is like its' bigger brother, it has full liners and G-10/Micarta handles.

Yeah I have the full size Ritter Grip and it has partial liners. The only thing I dislike about the knife really.

My mistake. That's a little disappointing to hear about the full-size Griptilian.

Bowie Mike, I just picked up the D2 (mini) Griptilian from Cabelas as well

I tend to think that full liners would make the "big" grip a better knife. That said, the inside of the scales do have reinforcement bridges in the areas that are linerless.

I've been thinking about that mini-Rukus too.
:)

I love it when you guys post these pics - somehow I can now justify buying more knives. I have the Griptilian D2 on order.

Nice photo, what's in the other drawers - I need more inspiration.:D

thanks Bowie Mike, Always willing to inspire(corrupt!) another fellow blader.

Heres a couple more drawers.

Mine just arrived - also from Cabelas. The only thing better than a new knife is a free, new knife - used my Cabelas Club points.:D

The axis lock is great, I can't believe I didn't discover Benchmades until now.

Open and closing a knife with one hand, and it's rock solid - can beat it.

I see that the Griptilian only has partial liners as you indicated, but it is reinforced and the handle seems very strong. I guess it keeps the overall weight down.

Plus, Benchmade has the lifetime warantee so I'm not too concerned about the quality or strength of the knife.

I've found S30V (Kershaw G10 Leek in S30V) to be a very interesting blade steel. Definately the most difficult knife I have tried to sharpen due to it's low grindability. However, once an edge is established it retains sharpness for a long time. However, it doesn't seem to maintain a "shaving sharp" edge for long, however it maintains a useable edge very well.

How do you feel about adoption--- or just putting me in your will? :D

That's quite a toy box you have there! The next time my wife complains, guess what my defense will be? Muahahaha!
