I have just found this sale. The Schrade Lake & Walker shown is a SLW2 and not a Schrade a SLW1 - some one has payed good money for a knife that sells for $40.
I belive the blade has been changed on a SLW1 - The blade on the knife shown is a SLW2 blade and is not a BG42 blade.

It's always best when you think you know something to ask....this is one of the serialized Slw1's that came complete with the original packaging with box and knife having the same serial number.........you owe me an open apology........

Hi Jim, I do not mind to post an Open Apology.
I believe you have the original packaging with an original serialised box.

However, the knife shown looks like it has a hard to find SLW2 non-serrated blade. (with black handles)
The handle on the SLW1 were black in colour and the BG42 blade was not stamped U.S.A.
I would think the blade has been changed and if the knife has a serial number, it will be “faint and not uniform”
I have seen these knives before without the BG42 blade, they were also in a SLW1 box with all the packaging.
The BG42 blade is also polished to a mirror-like-finish.
You can see the belt finishing marks running vertically down the Stainless blade, on the SLW2 knives.… Ken
