So I got this in a trade yesterday

and it's definitely seen some pocket time it was dirty and dull so I took apart cleaned and sharpened while I dislike the similar size mini griptillian I can not seem to put this down and I have had a custom scale griptilian. Definitely the smoothest action axis lock I have had and all I did was clean the washers and polish with some 1000 grit

My 707 is amazingly fast too... Great little knife, but its size makes it a rarity in my pocket.

Same here. The action is silky smooth but I tend to fumble it around in my hand due to its small size. Mine has been assigned to the desk drawer for letter opening duties and thats about it.

Does your 551 have a black oxide lock? They start out rougher, but break in. Otherwise it's probably a difference in break-in or tension adjustment.

Don't get me wrong the 551 is smooth I think the smaller blade just allows for a faster deployment with out flicking you wrist

I love my 707, fast and smoother to open than most of my knives. Its my favorite small, thin and light gentleman's folder.

The 707 is currently at the top of my wish list. I especially like your user version, Uncle Floyd.

I too have the 707 near the top of my list, but with 3 different mini-grips in my current rotation, a knife the size of the 707 is something that I'm just not needing at this moment. I think after I add a few more in the 3.5"-4" range i can go back and revisit the sub 3" knives again.

Well here's mine. I may be convinced to sell it. I do think its a really nice knife but like I said, I just can't warm up to the ergonomics...just a tad too small for my hands I guess.

The 707 is one of my favorite knives. I would like to see one in M4 with a clear coating.
