Benchmade service question

I loved my 810 so much, that the day after I got it I ordered a 1401. Long story short, a buddy of mine return the knife without the blade or axis lock. He apologized for an hour straight as I contemplated what damage an 810 would do to a human skull. Will benchmade replace the blade, or do I have to buy a new knife? I'm just trying figure out if they will, and if it would be wrong of me to even ask. Not a happy camper at the moment.

You may have to have the damaged blade, or part of it, for them to replace it though. Definitely would give BM a call, their customer service is top notch.

Call them and tell them what happened. They have great CS and I bet they will help you. The whole blade and the Axis bar are missing or the liners too?

I think you need to tell us the long story,...

Whatever is left of the blade needs to be returned.

Good thing it's not a eight legged bug knife. Then a new knife.

How about the rest of the story.

He is an old buddy that would kill for me in a heartbeat. I haven't seen him in a year because I moved out of state. He tried to give me a stainless Ruger single six as payment for breaking it and losing the parts. I sincerely didn't see any signs of him being tweaking, and I have too much experience with that. I am not proud of that, but I still love the man. He showed interest in a great knife, so I thought I would try to hook him. It was obvious when he returned it that he was tweaking, so I tried to call his dad. His dadad was cool as he'll, and knew that his son had his issues. He didn't call me back, and that was extremely strange. I called his stepmother the next day, and she informed me that his dad died, and my buddy went off the deep end. Lots of drama, but it was asked for.
I would kinda like the knife in one piece if nothing else as a memory.

Yeah, I really don't know what else to say. I love the knife, but I love him more.

We all have one like him in our lives bro. So friggin tough dealing with that shit.
Call BM and just let them know what happened. They'll hook you up.
I paid $40 for a coated blade replacement on a 581 and they did a great job!!
