My benchmade 51 ' s latch doesn't hold securely so I sent it in.

How long does it usually take for them to get it back to me?

Just call and ask them for the status. Of the few I've sent in over the years it's been a pretty consistent 2 week turn around time give or take but I live on the East coast. I know people who get theirs sooner. And as a friend recently pointed out for some reason it takes a bit longet this time of year. Some I got e-mail confirmation they received it one I think I didn't.

Either way I'd call them. Better to ask direct.

Not long. Pretty sure it was under a week (working days) to get mine back including shipping time to get there. They fixed my 62 latch and gave 2 other knives some TLC and sharpening. If you call them right now you will get ahold of someone and they will let you know every detail about any questions you have.

I sent it in yesterday. I'm not going to bug anyone yet. I was just wanting to know what to expect.

When I sent a Strider SMF in I asked the same question here and was told not to bother them until it had been 4 weeks.

That is not going to be the case with BM.;) I guarntee it will be 2 weeks absolute tops. More than likely you will get it back by next Thursday.

Just got my tracking number for it. UPS says it'll be another week before I get it back.

I got my knife back today. They replaced the lost screw and tweaked the latch. I wish it was a little harder to unlock. I really like the lock on the smallfly.

FYI in case anyone else is curious on turn around times...

Just a final update for anyone who may be curious about the warranty.

I mailed my knife in Jan 3rd.
BM received it Jan 6th.
BM repair shop emailed me on Jan 10th indicating they received it.
BM emailed Jan 28th with a link to FedEx tracking for return.
I received my knife back Feb 1 in perfect condition.

Blade is now perfectly centered, does not rub liners, and has 0 play in any direction. The blade doesn't deploy as fast as it once did, but Im sure it will break in or may just need a few drops of blue lube.

They actually went above what was expected. On my repair form I noted that the blade coating was rubbing off due to scraping the liners, and if they could not "spot coat" the marks to not replace the blade because I didn't want to pay the additional $25. Turns out they did anyways free of charge - very cool. :)
