Anybody have a Benchmade nylon sheath? Are they nice quality? I've been using my 551 for backpacking and now I'm thinking about carrying it in a sheath instead of my pocket. I love the size and feel of the handle, but it's a little thick for pocket carry.

Thanks.

I have one. Decent quality but nothing special. Set up for 1 3/4" Vertical and 1 1/2" horizontal carry. Very small and subdued tab with the Benchmade logo on the velcro flap. Made in USA.

I think Benchmade is in the process of changing their sheaths - you may want to either wait until the new ones have ben out long enough to get reviews, or else check and make sure you're getting an old model sheath, not a new one.

The current Benchmade sheaths are perfectly decent, but nothing to write home about. But they're, what, $10 at full MSRP? (I think the nre ones are going to be $15, but are heavier built or something.)

Yeah, I got a small one from my local gun shop for around $10. :jerkit:

One of the horizontal strap thingies was kind of frayed and when I pulled on it a bit and the whole thing pulled off, like it was barely stitched in.... I wasn't so happy about it at the time but I don't care about it at all now.

I use them a lot.
I use the small ones for my 525, 705 and mini grips and the large for my full sized grip and 710.

The small is also a perfect fit for the Fenix L1P light and the large is a perfect fit for the Inova X5T.

I have found them to be inexpensive and reliable.

I'll have to check into the new sheath. Thanks for all the help.
